“We’re introducing people to the excitement of winter silent sports in the Northwoods,” Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce director Theresa Smith said. “Everyone knows how much fun biking and fishing in Boulder Junction is in the summer, but, if you love to be outdoors, the winter can be just as much fun. The trails are groomed and beautiful, the air is crisp and clean and the scenery is breathtaking.”

Boulder Junction’s Forest Frenzy Winter Triathlon is the only outdoor winter triathlon of its kind in the state of Wisconsin. The event consists of a 7.5-kilometer cross-country ski (classic or skate) course, a 5-kilometer snowshoe course and a 7.5-kilometer fat tire bike course. Racers can enter alone, or with a 3-person relay team.

Entry fees are $75 per individual or $170 for a relay team; but hurry, there is a 100 racer limit.

The Forest Frenzy is staged at historic Camp Manito-wish YMCA, and the race takes place on the trails of the scenic Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest.
