The annual Arctic Warrior Snowshoe and Winter Obstacle Course Races will take place on Saturday, Jan. 12 in St. Germain. Registration and packet pick-up will be from 8 to 11 a.m. at Black Bear Lodge, the headquarters for the event. The 5K and 10K Arctic Warrior Snowshoe Race will begin at 10 a.m., and the 5K and 10K Arctic Warrior Obstacle Course Race, a team event, will begin at 11 a.m. with a staggered start.

All races go around Little St. Germain Lake and through trails of towering pines. The obstacle course race includes a tire shuffle, dumpster dive, arctic switchback climb, snow tunnel crawl and fat tire bike trek. The Most Spirited Arctic Warrior Team will be recognized at 3:30 at the Wild Bear Grill & Pub.  Proceeds from the race will be shared with the St. Germain Non-Motorized Trail System Fund.

Admission is $30 for the 5K/10K Arctic Warrior Snowshoe Race, and the Arctic Warrior “Family” Snowshoe Race cost is $65, which includes  two adult entries for the 5K/10K Snowshoe Race and entrance for all children under the age of 18 from the same family. The family admission includes two T-shirts. The 5K/10K Arctic Warrior Obstacle Race is $50, and the Ultimate Arctic Warrior Race, which includes both the snowshoe race and the obstacle race, is $75.

All registrations for the snowshoe race include a gender specific long sleeve T-shirt, a finisher item and a free bowl of soup or chili at the finish.
