The Lakeland golf team looked to stay in top shape as they played a Great Northern Conference (GNC) meet in Rhinelander over the weekend.

Northwood Golf Course was the site for the match. Lakeland won the match again with a team score of 315. They placed the top four golfers of the day.

Taking first place in the match was Ansen Nomm. He shot a 77 which included a 37 on the back nine. 

Taking a tie for second place was Kyle Bengston and Kaeden Nomm. They both shot a 79. Bengston played consistently on the back nine with many fives and a couple threes. Kaeden had a lot of fours on the front nine.

Taking fourth place was Adam Lazaroff. He went and shot an 80, which included a 41 on the front nine and 39 on the back nine. 

Coming in seventh place overall was Jake Collins. He shot an 87 which included a 43 on the front nine and 44 on the back nine.

“To have four guys shoot 80 or better is great and we’re excited for Bass Lake and Eagle River this week,” head coach Scott Howard said.

The Thunderbirds continue to show top performances as the matches go by. Their next match comes today, Tuesday, May 14 at Bass Lake Country Club in Antigo starting at 3 p.m.
