  • C. W. Hooper established The Lakeland Times in 1891. Due to an expansion in 1981, The Lakeland Time's office is currently located at 510 Chippewa Street, Minocqua, Wisconsin.

    The Lakeland Times is a family owned, twice-weekly paper published for the Northwoods readers of the Lakeland area. The towns included in this region are: Minocqua, Woodruff, Arbor-Vitae, Hazelhurst, Lac du Flambeau, Lake Tomahawk, Boulder Junction, Manitowish Waters, Harshaw, Park Falls, Star Lake, Winchester, Presque Isle, Mercer, Sayner and St. Germain. These towns encompass the counties of Oneida, Vilas and Iron. The Lakeland area is located 60-90 miles north of Wausau and is known for its beautiful lakes, woods, and outdoor activities. Tourism is the major trade in the Lakeland area along with other major businesses such such as: retail, food, restaurants, lodging, services, medical facilities, and other tourist related businesses.

    The Lakeland Times features local, county, and school news; editorials; letters to the editor; employment section; sports; school scene; and community business. The paper is delivered to its readers on Tuesday and Friday of each week.

    The Lakeland Times has established a tradition of excellence in news coverage, photos, and editorial leadership. The paid circulation, twice-weekly newspaper is distributed through the U.S. Mail and newsstand sales in the Lakeland communities.



    Terms and Payment

    A. All local rates are non-commissionable.

    B. All accounts must be paid in full on or before the end of the billing month.

    C. Past due accounts are subject to a 1% per month finance charge - annual rate is 12%

    D. Past due accounts are not eligible for and forfeit any discounts.

    E. New display and classified advertisers must pay, in advance of placement. Master Card & Visa are accepted.

    Lakeland Printing Co. reserves the right to copyright any advertising produced by us for advertisers.

    Publishers liability for error: The publisher shall not be liable for slight changes or typographical errors that do not lessen the value of an advertisement. The publisher's liability for other errors or omissions in connection with an advertisement is strictly limited to publication of the advertisement in any subsequent issue or the refund of any money paid for the advertisement.

    Indemnifications: The advertiser and/or advertising agency agrees to defend and indemnify the publisher against any and all liability, loss or expenses arising from claims of libel, unfair competition, unfair trade practices, infringement or trademarks, copyrights, trade names, patents or proprietary rights
